Functional prototypes and small series made of polyamide;

By selective laser sintering, high-quality polyamide powder with a grain diameter of 50 µm is applied in layers of 0.1 mm thick on the building site and heated to just before the melting point. The plastic is then precisely melted using a laser, thus creating a stable layer. This process is repeated until the desired ingredients are combined. Because the loose powder acts as a support structure, no additional support elements are needed and almost any geometry can be produced in one piece. Only the hollow components need to have suitable openings in order to be able to completely remove the loose dust from the inside. SLS components are characterized by very good mechanical and thermal properties. They are flexible and dimensionally stable even at higher temperatures (> 100°C). Functional elements such as snap hooks or film hinges can be produced. Moving assemblies can be sintered in one piece if properly designed. An aluminum-reinforced polyamide powder is available for particularly high demands.
