Corrugated polycarbonate sheet is also commonly referred to as structural polycarbonate, corrugated polycarbonate, grooved polycarbonate or multilayer polycarbonate. The name "corrugated" is used because of the structure of the polycarbonate sheet. The air in the gap (groove) between the separating walls inside the polycarbonate sheet provides thermal insulation properties and the filler (separator) that forms these walls provides both structural rigidity and flexibility to the polycarbonate sheet.
