Описание продукта

Radon measurement in buildings;

Radon (Rn) is a natural, odorless, colorless and inert radioactive gas. It comes from the conversion of radium (Ra) from uranium (U) and thorium (Th), the radioactive elements found in granite and igneous rocks. It emits alpha (α) ionizing radiation. Radon found in soil is the main component of natural radioactivity in the environment. It passes into the ambient air through soil pores and rock cracks. Radon can also leach from some building materials that use naturally radioactive rocks such as granite, gneiss or basalt. It can also come from the natural gas removal of water. Indeed, radon can become concentrated in groundwater. Therefore, radon can accumulate in confined spaces and especially in buildings where it can reach high concentrations.
