Morphological Features: The body is elongated, rounded at the back. The fins are triangular and make up the back 23 of the mantle. The head has suction cups on 10 arms, two of which are longer than the others. The color is reddish with brownish dark spots. Males reach sexual maturity at 13 and females at 16 cm mantle length. 50-100 eggs are laid in gelatin cases and fixed on hard surfaces on sandy and muddy ground. One female lays around 50-60 gelatin cases. Males take over faster than females. The 7-8 cm individuals migrate from deep water to the coast in early July and reach a length of 15-16 cm in December.
