Gummi Myrrhe;
Myrrhe ist ein aromatisches Naturharz von Bäumen der Gattung Commiphora. Es gibt mehrere Unterarten verschiedener Herkunft. Beheimatet ist Myrrhe im Jemen, Somalia, Äthiopien und Kenia. Das ätherische Öl wird durch Dampfdestillation des Harzes gewonnen und dann in den verschiedenen Anwendungen, vor allem in der traditionellen Medizin, Kosmetik- und Parfümindustrie, eingesetzt. Aber auch der modernen Pharmaindustrie entstehen neue Anwendungsgebiete.
